Investor Development Program

Advice and support for foreign companies with operations in the Netherlands

The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) is an operational unit of the ministry of Economic Affairs. It helps and advises foreign companies on the establishment, rolling out and/or expansion of their international activities in the Netherlands. The NFIA provides its services not only to new foreign investors but also to existing foreign investors that already have one or more operations in the Netherlands. Think of European restructuring activities where Dutch locations could play a pivotal role, expansion of existing activities in the Netherlands or the addition of new activities to current Dutch operations. To this end the NFIA has developed the Investor Development Program, in close collaboration with regional development agencies and a number of large cities.

Information, advice and support

The Investor Development program provides you with a platform you can consult for advice and support concerning any questions and issues you may face as a foreign company with an operation in the Netherlands. These include matters such as obtaining visas and work permits for employees, assistance with new investments and development projects, and support in finding and applying for subsidies that could be available to your company.

Bridging function

The Investor Development program can also introduce you to Dutch government organizations at the national, regional and local levels. Furthermore, we can bring you into contact with commercial service providers, such as consultants, agents and lawyers, and a wide variety of regional, national and international networks which are important to your company. 

Your views count

The Investor Development program also serves as a channel through which you can share your views and experiences concerning the investment climate in the Netherlands with the Dutch government. We collect your feedback and submit it to the relevant government agencies, and use it as input for future decision-making. If necessary, we immediately start looking for solutions to any bottlenecks in cooperation with the agencies concerned.

Tailor-made events and advice

In connection with the Investor Development program, dozens of national and regional events are organized each year, ranging from seminars and conferences to network dinners, round-table sessions and individual update meetings with representatives from the Dutch government. Moreover, with NFIA and the other partners involved in the Investor Development program, you can make individual arrangements for tailor-made support and advice.

Interested?

The services provided via the Investor Development program are completely free of charge and available to all foreign companies which have international operations in the Netherlands, regardless of the year of establishment.
