BlueCat Networks announces Paul Couturier as New VP of Sales for Europe, formally with TippingPoint, HP and 3Com

Amsterdam, the Netherlands , and Toronto, Canada – July 21, 2010 – BlueCat Networks, the IPAM Intelligence™ company, today announced that in response to rapidly-increasing demand for its market-leading IPAM, DNS and DHCP solutions in Europe, it has opened a new European headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The Amsterdam office is responsible for liaising with BlueCat Networks’ highly-qualified European channel partners to define business opportunities and ensure distributors and resellers have all the resources required to identify and maximize the marketing and sales opportunities that will further drive BlueCat Networks’ market share. Staffed by specialized IT sales experts with excellent European market knowledge, the office is located at Johannes Verhulststraat 156A, 1071NP Amsterdam, and can be contacted directly at +31 20 754 64 85

The Amsterdam office is headed by Paul Couturier, the former Vice President & General Manager for EMEA and APAC at TippingPoint, where he was responsible for growing the international division of the company into a multi-million Euro revenue business. With over 20 years of highly-successful international IT sales and management experience, and fluent in English, Dutch, French, Italian and German, Couturier’s proven leadership qualities at such high-profile organizations as Siemens, HP and 3Com make him ideally qualified to drive BlueCat Networks’ continued rapid growth in Europe.

“Despite the global recession, worldwide demand for BlueCat’s IPAM and DNS/DHCP solutions continues to grow rapidly, and the new Amsterdam office is a direct result of BlueCat’s expansion in Europe,” said Paul Couturier, Vice President, Europe for BlueCat Networks. “One of several new BlueCat offices opening worldwide in 2010, the Amsterdam headquarters will lead BlueCat’s aggressive marketing activities in Europe,” Couturier continued. “This office will provide all the local support and knowledge our growing number of European channel partners require to ensure they can easily access the resources and training they need to grow their customer base and maximize sales.”

“Meeting the needs of our customers has always been BlueCat Networks’ number one priority, and the new Training Services program underscores this commitment by making it easy for customers to tailor IPAM, DNS and DHCP training around their administrators’ busy schedules,” said Israel Forst, Vice President, Professional Services, BlueCat Networks. “BlueCat Networks’ innovative IPAM and DNS/DHCP solutions set the benchmark for the industry, and now this equally-innovative program will set the benchmark for IPAM, DNS and DHCP training – making it easier than ever before for our customers to maximize network efficiency and productivity.”

BlueCat Networks’ Proteus IPAM solutions integrate with its own Adonis DNS/DHCP appliances and Microsoft Windows DNS and DHCP to simplify network management by making it easy for administrators to fully integrate IP inventory tracking and allocation, along with DNS and DHCP management. Administrators can design networks with a simple conceptual view, then deploy and manage them across the organization. When managing DNS and DHCP, Proteus becomes “mission control,” offering full command and customization of configurations from a central, secure Web-based interface to make it simple to eliminate all IPAM problems.

About BlueCat Networks

BlueCat Networks’ unified approach, which enables management of all network services, including DNS and DHCP, from a single Proteus IPAM interface, has been embraced by such prestigious organizations worldwide as Germany’s Göttingen University, Sweden’s SEB (Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken), and Georgia Tech in the United States.

“Avnet is pleased that BlueCat is underscoring its commitment to its channel partners by opening a European headquarters in Amsterdam, which will further support Avnet’s efforts in the UK & the Netherlands,” said Bruce Hockin, Head of Business Strategy, Avnet Technology Solutions. “This resource will help provide the additional local marketing and technical support Avnet’s resellers require to maximize sales opportunities in these regions,” Hockin continued. “Over the last 12 months, Avnet has seen a rapid increase in demand for enterprise-class IPAM platforms and secure DNS/DHCP network administration appliances, and has partnered with BlueCat Networks to ensure it can provide its resellers with “Best-of-Breed” technology to address this growing opportunity.”

“As the number of devices connecting to the network continues to increase rapidly and new technologies like DNSSEC and IPv6 pose additional challenges to network administrators, it is becoming impossible to manage IP addresses with traditional spreadsheets and configure DNS & DHCP servers, manually – which has resulted in an incredible increase in demand for IPAM, DNS and DHCP solutions across Europe,” said Rainer Maurer, CEO of n3k. “Over the years, BlueCat has demonstrated an impressive ability to adopt as well as establish new trends in the DDI industry, and its solutions are ideal for our customers as they completely eliminate any network accessibility problems by making it simple to centrally deploy, manage, monitor and audit IP addresses across the entire organization from a single, secure Web-based interface,” Maurer continued. “This new Amsterdam office shows BlueCat’s commitment to Europe and will enable us to acquire knowledgeable advice and resources from experts that are not only familiar with IPAM as a technology but also with our local market – making it easier for us to provide customers with the IPAM platforms and secure DNS/DHCP network administration they require.”
